I like rainy days. The washed-clean colors, sweet-smell of grass clinging close to the ground.
Raindrops denting the pond, watering the fish…
Long walks with Maggie.
This morning’s rainy stroll a perfect way to say goodbye to the weekend and turn back to the workaday world that makes my home possible…

I'm so glad to see you back, Nancy! I love the pictures--your mountain homestead is looking lovely. How's the garden?
Thanks, Beth! The cottage garden's kind of crazy. Things that grow well in Greensboro, don't do well at the cabin. Like roses. But Zinnias are growing wild! I'm learning to rely on more native plants and to leave the fancy stuff out. And just when I think I've got a bead on it, the garden goes and surprises me...like the gourds I gave up on ever germinating. Well, wait til you see what's growing all over the trellis!
